Pawdoro is a wellbeing companion for your cat. We built it for cat owners who care about their cat and their privacy. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we don't, and what choices you have.

Who we are

Pawdoro is built and operated by Paul Wilkie Page, based in the United Arab Emirates. You can reach us any time at hello@pawdoro.io.

Two ways to use Pawdoro

Pawdoro works fully without an account. If you stay signed out, every cat, reminder, mood and weight entry lives only on your device. No copy on our servers.

If you sign in with your email, we keep an encrypted copy of your cat data on our cloud so it syncs across your phone, tablet and browser. Signing in is opt-in, never required.

What data we collect

Data you enter

Your cats' names, birthdays, breeds, coat colours, indoor/outdoor status, reminders, mood entries, weight entries, energy entries, notes and activity log. Stored on your device by default; also synced to our cloud if you sign in.

Your account (only if you sign in)

We use Supabase (EU region) for sign-in, with email and password or a one-tap magic link. The only personal detail we hold is your email address, used to send the sign-in link, password reset, and (only if you tick the opt-in box at sign-up) the weekly cat care tips email. No social sign-in.

Anonymous analytics

We use PostHog (EU region) to understand which parts of the app are useful and which aren't. The setup is locked to:

  • Anonymous device id only. A random id stored on your device. Not linked to your email or any other personal field.
  • No cookies. Storage uses local storage.
  • No auto-capture. Every event is hand-instrumented from a short allow-list (tab views, onboarding steps, reminders accepted, share clicks).
  • No session recording. No screen recording, no replay.
  • PII scrub on the client. Properties like cat name, weight, breed, birthday and notes are dropped before they leave your device, even if a developer adds them by accident.
  • EU residency. Events are sent to PostHog's EU cloud at eu.i.posthog.com.

Analytics are disabled in development builds and disabled if the analytics key is not configured.

Feedback you send us

If you open the feedback form from Settings, you'll land on a Google Form. Anything you type into that form goes to a Google Sheet we read. We only see what you choose to submit. The app version and submission date are pre-filled so we can debug issues.

What we don't collect

  • No name or phone number.
  • No location data.
  • No advertising identifiers (IDFA, GAID).
  • No biometric or health data beyond what you log about your cat.
  • No third-party tracking pixels. Your data never reaches Facebook, Google Ads, or external advertiser networks.
  • No selling of your data to anyone, for any reason, ever.

How we use your cat data

The cat details you log (breed, age, indoor or outdoor, weight trend, mood patterns, play history) power the app's home-screen avatar and the long-term wellbeing trends. They also help Pawdoro recommend things relevant to your specific cat:

  • Care tips matched to breed and age (e.g. kitten-specific feeding advice, senior cat mobility tips).
  • Product recommendations from our affiliate partners that fit your cat (e.g. flea treatment when an indoor cat starts going outdoors, water fountains when hydration trends suggest one would help).
  • Enrichment activity suggestions matched to your cat's energy level and play history.

This is first-party use of your data to make Pawdoro more useful to you specifically. The data stays inside Pawdoro. It never leaves the app to feed external ad networks, never gets sold, and is never used to retarget you on other apps or websites.

Marketing emails

At sign-up there is an unticked checkbox: "Send me weekly tips on raising a happier, healthier cat." If you tick it, we'll send you up to one short email a week with cat care tips. If you don't tick it, the only emails we send are the essentials: sign-in links, password resets, and account-related notices.

Every marketing email has a one-tap unsubscribe in the footer. Unsubscribing removes you from the list immediately and does not affect the essential emails (which you need to access your account).

Where data is stored

Signed-out: cat data lives in your device's local storage. Clearing your browser data, or uninstalling the app, deletes it.

Signed-in: cat data syncs to a Supabase project hosted in the EU. Encrypted in transit and at rest. Row-level security means only your account can read or write your rows.

Analytics events live in PostHog's EU cloud. Feedback submissions live in Google's infrastructure under Paul's account.

Account inactivity

If you don't sign in to your Pawdoro account for 12 months or more, we may delete your account and all the data linked to it. We'll send a reminder to your registered email address at least 30 days before any deletion, so you have time to sign back in if you want to keep things.

Third parties

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA, or similar laws. These include the right to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and the right to object to processing.

In-app you can: sign out at any time (cuts the cloud link, keeps local data); delete your account (wipes your email, your synced cat data, and your linked analytics events); export your data as JSON; clear local storage. You can also email us at hello@pawdoro.io with the device id from Settings to request deletion of analytics events tied to your anonymous device id, even if you never signed in.

Account deletion is permanent and immediate. There is no recovery window after you confirm.

Children

Pawdoro is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app and want their data removed, email us.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be flagged inside the app on next open.
